The Story That Shaped My Books and Endeavors

Every book I’ve written and endeavors I’ve started began with a spark—an idea, a question, and a desire to create something meaningful that could touch the lives of others.

This page is my invitation to step behind the scenes: to see not just my accomplishments, but the heart, curiosity, and purpose that guided every choice along the way. It’s about the story, the process, and the values that continue to inspire and shape everything I do.

Tiny Talks, Timeless Moments

Create Your Own Conversation Memories

KC, my daughter, was such a bubbly kid while growing up—always curious and keeping herself busy with all kinds of playful activities. One of the things I found most amusing was her candid, witty remarks during casual conversations, whether at home or out in public. Some of those memorable conversations I’d post on Facebook, and others I’d write down in my journal. Over the years, I’ve kept them all. They brought so much joy to my heart and created cherished memories.

It wasn’t until 2024 that I had the idea to compile these conversations. Soon after, I started dreaming about turning them into a book. I began writing the manuscript and visualizing the book. At first, I had no clue how to go about it, but by early 2025, I became serious about it, wanting to share these moments with others and encourage parents to create memories with their children.

The trickiest part was figuring out how to actually turn it into a book. God led me to the right people, and thanks to them, the book became what it is today. And the rest, as they say, is history.

In 2003, a speaker at one of the seminars I attended shared a scrapbook filled with her dreams and goals. It had cut-out pictures, little notes, and scribbles of the things she wanted in life. She encouraged us to make our own scrapbook to motivate us to work harder toward our goals.

After that seminar, I was so inspired to create my own. I happened to have a yellow notebook with the word “dream” on the cover—it was a gift—so I decided to turn it into my dream notebook. I started listing the things I wanted for that year and added a few cut-outs as well. At the end of each year, I’d look back and check what I had achieved and what I hadn’t. I was consistent with it, and every time I revisited my dream notebook, I became more convinced that writing down my goals, dreams, and prayers really helped. It shaped my mindset and nudged me to take action. And it reminded me of how faithful God has been in helping me achieve those dreams.

For years, I looked for a dream book I could buy—something that would be a “leveled-up” version of my notebook—but I couldn’t find any. Then the idea came to create my own dream book. But honestly, it stayed in my mind for a long time, and I never actually took a step toward making it real.

Early in 2025, I became fond of BYD cars—especially after learning that the name is an abbreviation for “Build Your Dreams.” Then, in June 2025, while I was in Manila, I met up with my good friend Sharon Yu and was surprised to learn that she had just bought a BYD car. As I sat quietly in her car, listening to her talk, the idea of “My Dream Book” suddenly came alive again. I told myself, “Lord, is this Your sign? Is this my go signal to finally make the dream book?” I felt excited—like something inside me had been unlocked.

When I returned to Dumaguete, I finally started working on the book, with the help of my CCF Dgroup friend who’s based in Manila.

And now, after five months, I’m so grateful that the dream book is finally “real.” I’m excited to share it because I truly believe there is power in writing down your dreams, goals, and aspirations. The simple act of putting your thoughts on paper isn’t just a habit—it’s an act of faith. When you write, you take something invisible and give it form. You’re saying, “Lord, I believe this dream came from You, and I trust You with it.”

I also want to share this verse to encourage you to trust God’s promises:

Habakkuk 2:2–3 (KJV) “And the LORD answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.”
